It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Romania and the Regional Consular Centre South-East Europe, where you can find relevant information about our services, activities and the latest developments in Switzerland-Romania relations.
In 2026, the two countries are celebrating 115 years of diplomatic relations, a milestone reflecting the depth and continuity of a partnership based on mutual respect, shared interests and a strong commitment to cooperation, both bilaterally and within European and multilateral frameworks.
This is a solid foundation we can build upon, and I hope this anniversary will spark new projects, deeper trade relations and expanded Swiss investment in key sectors of Romania’s economy.
As Ambassador, I am honoured to represent Switzerland in Romania amid such a dynamic context and to contribute to this longstanding partnership.
A key priority for my term is economic and innovation-driven cooperation. Swiss companies are significant contributors to Romania’s economy, and there is considerable potential to expand collaboration in high value-added sectors, including digitalization, research and development and dual education.
A second priority concerns the strengthening of the institutional and cohesion-oriented cooperation under the Second Swiss Contribution, under which, through eleven programmes, we work closely with Romanian partners to implement durable projects aimed to reduce economic and social disparities, strengthen governance and promote sustainability.
Finally, I attach particular importance to people-to-people connections. Academic exchanges, cultural cooperation and youth mobility generate durable networks that extend beyond official diplomacy. Facilitating these exchanges—and aligning them with our broader strategic objectives—is an integral part of my mandate.
Together with my team we are focused to ensure that the Embassy remains accessible and responsive to the citizens we serve, but also a place where Romanian friends, partners and institutions can discover Switzerland, engage with our country and build lasting connections with Swiss counterparts.
